Shatrughan Sinha walked out of award show as he didn’t want to present Bebo with Best Actress award!


Shatrughan Sinha stormed out from the Zee Cine Awards ceremony held in London recently. The actor turned politician was one of the special invitees at the function.

He was told that he would be handing a trophy and he’d agreed to do the honours. But when the Bihari Babu learned that he was handing the trophy for the best actress and not best actor, he felt slighted and left the show.

Technical mess

An eyewitness from London reveals, “The show was a technical mess. Although it was very well attended, some of the stars didn’t leave happy, mainly because of the ill-treatment they faced, with modest housing and travel arrangements.

But the Shatrughan Sinha was the biggest shocker. He left the show half an hour before it ended. Also he skipped the after-party hosted by Zee and their principal sponsors.”

The source further adds, “When Shatru was asked to come backstage by the ground staff to hand over the trophy for the Best Actress category, he refused.

He said he was a big star and wanted to hand the trophy to the Best Actor, as that was a bigger and more special award. The staffers tried to reason with him saying that they had planned it in such a way that he would hand the award to an actress and then Rekha would hand the award to the Best Actor.

Somewhere in the middle of this conversation, the actor lost his cool and along with his wife, stormed out of the award function. The organisers were in a fix and then convinced Govinda to be the last-minute replacement and give the award.”

Kareena Kapoor won the Best Actress award and Shah Rukh Khan took the Best Actor award.
Shatrughan Sinha remained unavailable for comment.
