Aussies prefer Big B over SRK
Though Aussie cricketers Michael Hussey, Simon Katich and Hogg can barely pronounce Big B or Kareena’s name, Brett and Daryl seem to know the stars better.
“Big B is the man. If I refer to him in cricket language, he is someone who has got the runs on the board,” Brett said, “Big B has been a quality actor for many, many years now. Even before I came to India, I knew his name. People back in Australia have heard of him. He’s massive,” added Brett.
“He is too cool,” was Brad’s short reply. Daryl, an umpire of great repute, said, “It would be a great honour to feature with Amitabh. I wish he was there in Victory. But I would be very tense working with him. The pressure would be as big as say playing an international cricket match that is heading for a nail-biting finish.”
Daryl, contradictorily loves Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a film that stars Shah Rukh Khan and not his idol. Kareena, who is flaunting her recently yoga acquired svelte figure, too tops the umpire’s list. “In the females, it has to be Kareena Kapoor. She is super hot. I saw her in some films. I think she is so stunning. I want to meet her.”
And why is SRK missing out on some Aussie favour? “Shah Rukh Khan is the new Don but Amitabh is the don of Bollywood. He is some 65 and he still can pull people,’ was Daryl’s reply.
“SRK is a very good actor, I like him too but I’m overwhelmed by Amitabh Bachchan. He’s an enigma,” was Brett’s reply.
Looks like for the Aussies the Badshah has to go some more miles to catch up with the Shahenshah.
